Legal Structure

CCTR is registered as a non-profit organization in Egypt and Europe, with ongoing plans for international registration to enable global partnerships and fundraising from around the world.

Our Announcement

CCTR will make its public debut at the Cairo International Book Fair in January 2026 — one of the most prestigious publishing events in the Arab world — before its official launch in January 2027.

Our Story

The Christian Center for Translation and Research was born out of a simple but profound realization: the Arabic-speaking Christian community — spanning 10 to 15 million believers in Egypt alone — has been systematically underserved by accessible, high-quality theological scholarship in their native language.

For too long, Arabic-speaking scholars, ministers, and believers have had to rely on abridgements, summaries, or incomplete translations of foundational Christian texts. Meanwhile, over 40 seminaries across the MENA region operate with minimal access to comprehensive reference works in Arabic — forcing students to study theology in a foreign language or through fragmented resources.

In 2024, co-founders George Nasser and Tomas Samuel assembled a team of eight expert translators, linguists, and theologians to address this gap head-on. CCTR was founded on three pillars: academic rigor, theological faithfulness, and accessibility for all.

From its inception, CCTR committed to a four-stage peer-review process for every translation, ensuring that works like the Philip Schaff Encyclopedia, Aquinas' Summa Theologica, and Van Til's presuppositional apologetics are rendered with absolute fidelity to the source texts and theological precision in Arabic.

Today, CCTR is poised to make its public debut at the Cairo International Book Fair in January 2026, with an official launch in January 2027. Our mission remains clear: to become the leading global reference for Christian scholarship in Arabic — preserving heritage, empowering the Church, and advancing theological education across the Arab world.

Our Confession

Statement of Faith

The Christian Center for Translation and Research is grounded in the historic, orthodox Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. The following statement reflects the essential convictions shared across Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant traditions.

I

Holy Scripture

We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and infallible Word of God, the supreme authority for Christian doctrine, worship, and life.

II

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct Persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in essence, power, and glory, as revealed in Holy Scripture.

III

Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and perfect humanity of Jesus Christ — his virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and return in glory.

IV

Salvation by Grace

We believe that salvation is the gift of God alone, received through faith in Jesus Christ — his death bearing the penalty for sin and his resurrection securing eternal life for all who believe.

V

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Person and work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, effects regeneration, indwells and sanctifies believers, and empowers the Church for worship and witness.

VI

The Church

We believe in the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church — the body of Christ, gathered from every nation, called to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all peoples.

VII

Resurrection & Final Judgment

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead and in the final judgment — the everlasting blessedness of the redeemed and the just condemnation of the impenitent.

"We recognize that Christians hold varying views on secondary doctrines, forms of church governance, and modes of worship. CCTR's translation ministry is offered in a spirit of unity in the essentials, liberty in the non-essentials, and charity in all things."
